Partnerships
Local Design Journal considers collaborations that help readers explore design in local places without compromising editorial independence. The terms and labels for any commercial material are made clear.
Suitable collaborations
We may consider clearly defined partner placements, contextual resource links or commissioned material relevant to local buildings, streets, shared spaces, objects and visual communication. A proposal should explain the subject, the intended placement and what the partner hopes readers will find useful. Relevance alone does not guarantee acceptance.
Labelling and separation
Paid or partner material is identified plainly wherever it appears. Commercial placements are kept distinct from independent editorial coverage, and partners cannot buy a favourable article, a positive assessment or control over our conclusions. We will not present advertising as an independent recommendation.

Design is never just decoration
A handle, sign or doorway makes a claim about how something should be used. We look for the decisions behind that claim, including who benefits and what gets overlooked.
